Hi, I’m Kat and I am a stay-at-home mom/musician and the owner of Online Stay at Home Jobs.
I created this site to help other people avoid internet scams and guide them to the “real deal” opportunities. Since I myself fell for some of the scams out there, I know how frustrating it can be to just want to find a true way of making money online. I knew other people were doing it, so why not me?

Below is my story of how I stopped falling victim to scams, and started making a real income online.
Who Is Kat?
On paper, I’m a 31 year old mother of 2 beautiful children. I’m a musician, a teacher, a wife, and I have interests in just about everything. As of last year I also became a full-time internet marketer (if you can count when the kids are sleeping as full time!)
I started looking for a way to make money online back in 2004 when I was just about to quit my part-time job as an administrative assistant and start a family. My husband and I had been married for 7 years, had been lucky enough to travel to Russia, France and take a cruise to the beautiful Fanning Island (south of Hawaii).
I went through countless online opportunities that just didn’t pan out and since my husband was making decent money and I had just had a baby girl I decided to give up on the making money online dream. Until of course my daughter took good naps and I was once again left with the desire to bring in even a small amount of income to the family (I don’t know, call it a pride thing).
It wasn’t until I was pregnant with my second child (about 3 years after my first) that I got the making money online bug again and went searching one last time. When I had 3 months to go in my pregnancy I hit the jackpot. No, not a lot of dough or the lottery, but the “real” program I’d been looking for.
Now while I always had the desire to help with the family income, I NEVER had the desire to work, ironic right? But, I had learned a lot about passive income (the kind you make when you aren’t physically working at it) and I knew there were ways of doing it. So that is what I was searching for; an online job that allowed me to work from home that over time would pay me passively.
Some might call that a pipe dream, I know my family is still reluctant to believe in it, but I am proving to them every day that it does exist.
How 1 Day of Surfing the Net Changed My Life!
When I was 6 or 7 months pregnant and decided to go online one last time to see if I could find something, I found 2 opportunities. One that had to do with typing medical transcription and one that had you fill out “offers” in exchange for cash. It was while looking into the second option that I got my big break.
I was researching more about the second option when I saw another review about another company. This company was called Wealthy Affiliate and was exactly what I’d been looking for.
Having gone through this roller coaster ride before with other programs that turned out to be scams, I had my husband look it over as well before I decided to join.
It didn’t take long for us both to see the value of what I had found and to give it a shot. For the next few months before my son was born I worked and learned from this resource non-stop.
Even after I delivered my son, I really only took the days off in the hospital before getting right back into things. Not only because it was fun, but because that month was also the month of my first “sale”!
The Best Online Job Ever!
The title of the work I do is internet marketing; as an internet marketer, you connect businesses and products to real people and earn a commission when someone makes a purchase. Without getting into any more of the details, the most important fact that you should know is that everything I do for my business is free to do.
While I have chosen to continue my membership with Wealthy Affiliate because I love the community so much and it constantly gives me motivation and helpful updated information about the industry, everything else that I do for my business doesn’t cost me a dime. Okay, that isn’t true. I personally have decided to buy hosting (which isn’t really necessary anymore because Wealthy Affiliate recently updated their system and now offers unlimited free hosting). But other than those two monthly expenses (less than $40 for both combined), all the work I do only costs me my time.
An example of what I do is this: I choose a product that people may be interested in purchasing, say a new digital camera. Then I find the kinds of search terms people are typing into Google for that product and I write a little review about the camera. If someone reads my review and purchases the camera, I make a commission from that sale.
The above example can be duplicated and modified to fit any industry and any product so the sky is the limit on the amount of commissions you can make.
No experience or skill set is necessary for this business. If you are worried that you won’t be able to do any of this because you don’t have the ability to make websites or even write an article, don’t worry, everyone feels that way. My family is struggling with the poor economy just like everyone else. But something I have that some people don’t…hope. Each day and each month my income grows. I continue to work hard every day, I know that in the future all of my hard work will turn into a passive income. In fact, most of the hard work I’ve already put into it IS a passive income, I am just doing my best to make the passive income a large enough amount that will allow my husband to retire early (very early), send my kids to college and have plenty of money for vacations.
