I could have gone with the typical title you see, “The Top 10 Stay at Home Jobs“, but honestly I couldn’t come up with 10 good ones, even my number 4 and 5 are “iffy” if you want to make a real income online, but I threw them in for good measure in case you aren’t looking for a “career” but just a way to make a few hundred dollars every month. Everyone is different and the last thing I want to do is exclude those who just need a little extra cash but aren’t looking to replace their income and quit their job. Although some of you who see the potential of being an internet marketer or even freelance article writer, might consider it! So let’s get right to it, shall we?

1. Internet Marketer – I personally searched high and low trying to uncover a way to make at least $1000/month online in order to replace my part-time job I could no longer work after having kids…it took me 5 years to finally find something, but I did and internet marketing/affiliate marketing was the answer. I don’t want to confuse newbies with the complexities of it, but the bottom line is that you can make a full time income online as an internet marketer and end up over time making what you make in your current job and then some. As an online marketer you are basically a matchmaker between people and products, help people find what they are looking for anyway and you can make a commission in return.

2. Freelance Article Writer – If you want to start making money right away and have less of a learning curve involved you could do freelance article marketing. There are literally thousands of people working online who are willing to pay you to write articles for them. Unique content is key if you are an internet marketer, but sometimes it can be hard to keep up, which is where you would come in. So if you are willing to write a little, you can make money for each article and put money in your pocket right away. If you want to bridge the gap between article writer and an internet marketer, WA Jobs is great because you can learn internet marketing at WA while “working” as an article writer, there are tons of jobs posted on WA Jobs every day.

3. Global Domains International – GDI is kinda cool because if you want to spread the word about this business to people, they will reward you with monthly compensation. It is an MLM but a brilliant one so if you aren’t against those (there really isn’t anything wrong with most MLM’s out there). They give you the material you use to spread the word so you don’t actually have to “sell” anything yourself, just spread the word. The compensation is really good too, even if you just work with GDI, and do it well you will be making a comfortable living online.

4. Project Payday – I don’t endorse this stay at home job strongly, but I will say that it does work for a lot of people and is a legitimate way of making money. It has to do with incentivized freebie websites and in exchange for your information people will pay you to fill out offers for programs and products. I personally don’t like giving out my personal info. so never really liked this kind of online job, but if options 1-3 don’t interest you then I do suggest at least taking a look at this option.

5. Paid Surveys – Taking surveys online has been around awhile and although I made a teensy weeny amount of money with them, I didn’t have the patience for such little pay…BUT they do work and some people who stick with it and do a lot of them, can make some nice extra cash with online surveys.

There you have it, the best stay at home jobs that you’ll find online. If anyone out there finds others, please feel free to add to my list, but after 5 years and a lot of learning these options are truly the best (#1 and #2 being THE best!) The legitimate stay at home jobs that the internet has created revolve around the idea of selling products or services as an affiliate and making a commission for your advertising efforts.  There is also the potential of doing the occasional odd job for people if you still wish to do so, for instance: website creation, article writing, graphic design, etc.  The opportunities online are virtually endless in the ways you can create an income in this field.

Start up costs for stay at home jobs online are also very little to even nothing at all depending on the method you choose.  You could advertise using the pay-per-click method and start by spending very little and reinvest your earnings into your business, or you could begin with article marketing and only spend time on your creations rather than money.  The choice is up to you, but starting an online business and finding real stay at home jobs using the internet is becoming a reality for many more people every day.
