Medical Transcription Tools & Training

It can be confusing knowing where to find the right kind of program to get started with learning how to do medical transcription from home. Although the job is a legitimate one, it is a serious profession that you will need to have the proper training in order to do and in order to be taken seriously and get hired. There are online courses available through most universities.

How Much Does It Cost?

Since you will need to get proper education and training for this field, you are either looking at attending a college and taking the necessary required courses for medical transcription, or completing your training online. You can pick up this information “Work at Home as a Medical Transcriptionist” for $45. The program itself for in depth training through this company costs $1,945.00.

I also found training through Ed2Go.comiconthat goes through a college of your choice but can be completed online, it costs $1,795.

The most affordable option I found was to use Stratford Career Institute (a current special was $789, normally $1,089)

My Final Say About Medical Transcription From Home

I actually know a couple of people who successfully went through the training and began working from home as a medical transcriptionist, one of them still does this I believe. Here is what they say. “It was a little expensive to get going, a little difficult to find the work (as you still have to go out there and “pound the pavement” and find someone to work for), but a good job once I got going.”

This is a popular career choice because of the flexibility that it offers and it will likely always be in demand, however it does require a monetary commitment to get started and in-depth training.

Data Entry Work – Is There Anything Legit Out There

Data Entry Work – Where Are You???

Data Entry Work

If you are someone who really enjoys typing and computer work and would love to be able to do so from home for an honest paycheck, you may have tried to find data entry work that you can do online. However, it’s likely your search hasn’t led you anywhere good, am I right?

While there are a few opportunities available, the options are usually not what you had in mind and pay very little for the effort you give.

What Types of Data Entry Work Is There?

– filling out surveys
– medical transcription
– Google Adsense ads

The downside of some work from home data entry jobs is that they usually require some professional training in order to do them, as in the case of legal or medical coding and transcription. Others just simply don’t pay enough to be worth your time, as is the case with filling out surveys.

Often times typing alone is not skill enough to tackle these kinds of jobs and you could spend over a thousand dollars of your own money in order to be “trained” to do them. You then have to go and find the work yourself, while entirely possible, it is just one more unpaid obstacle that you have to overcome.

One example of this is medical transcription from home. While I know several people who do this job and make money from it, it can be difficult to get started and to find businesses willing to work with you, it also requires some training in order to excel at it.

Data entry of this nature essentially consists of you listening to material and inputting the data, this usually requires you to have special equipment such as a foot pedal and/or headphones.

What’s Wrong With Filling Out Surveys for Cash?

There is nothing wrong with actually filling out surveys for money, I’ve done it and yes you actually can make money this way. The problem? You make pennies. It’s sad really, because with these programs half the time you don’t even qualify for the surveys (so you wasted valuable time to figure this out), and then even if you do qualify they can be really time consuming and just don’t pay enough. There are far better ways to spend your money working online I assure you. And be warned about the programs that make you purchase a product in order to fill out surveys. They simply organize it in a way to get you started, but they aren’t necessary and they usually are a waste of your money.

What About Google Adsense Jobs?

If you’ve been searching than chances are you come across the “Google Adsense Jobs” which have to do with creating targeted advertisements with Google Adsense. Although I’m not sure I would call this true data entry work as there is a lot more to it then just entering data.

So What Can You Do?

Many of the above types of work from home jobs are severely lacking in their income potential as well. There is a lot of hard work that goes into preparing yourself for transcription positions plus having to find your own companies to work for makes it pretty hard to succeed. The good news is, there is an alternative to all of these kinds of jobs. It isn’t necessarily “data entry” per se, although I’m not sure I’d consider the above examples exactly that either, in my honest opinion, but it is something you can do from home, and the even better news – the income potential far exceeds the examples listed above.

To learn more about it please read my review of the #1 way to make money from home. And if you have any questions at all please leave me a comment below, I’d love to hear from you!

In Conclusion:

Yes, legitimate “data entry jobs” do exist and you can make money filling out surveys online, doing medical transcription work or even creating Google Adsense ads. But a couple of these will require out of pocket expenses for you and take a lot of work to get started, the other simply won’t give you much return for your effort.

The opportunity I spoke of above on the other hand is 100% free to join. It offers free training and support, free websites and hosting and personal help from the owners and community so that you can start working from home today. I hope you will read my review and again, if you have any questions or comments please leave them below.

Have a Great Day!
